1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons honey
1 cup bourbon
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup milk
6 tablespoons water
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter in a large bowl over medium heat. Stir in honey and bourbon. Gradually mix in sugar, turning very quickly. Continue stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy; about 20 minutes. Stop stirring and let cool slightly.
In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar, milk, water and flour. Stir together. Pour this mixture into the prepared pan. Dust with baking powder and baking soda to make the crust.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely. Remove from pan and spread evenly with a mini margarine brush or toothpicks.
Mix sugar, pecans, evaporated milk, and sugar glaze over the filling.
