Red Carat Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup red chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter or margarine, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking powder, baking soda and chocolate chips until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls into the prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake completely before frosting. Cut into squares and place 2 inches apart onto the prepared pan.
