1 cup white sugar
1 cup warm milk
1 cup butter
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan.
In a saucepan, combine sugar and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in butter or margarine and egg. Remove from heat and stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared pan, aligning.
Bake for 12 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
