1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup white wine
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons dried sage
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 small carrot, peeled and sliced
1 stalk celery
1 (8.5 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach - thawed, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
1 cup frozen chopped egg
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, mix together butter, onion, celery, garlic, salt and wine. In a separate medium bowl, combine drained spinach, bread crumbs, nutmeg, spinach and egg. Transfer mixture to a 2 quart baking dish and pour enough hot water to coat. Sprinkle top with sage and pepper, and top with carrot and celery. Bake 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
