3 egg whites
1/2 cup milk
1 1/3 cups sour cream
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 (15 ounce) can lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 teaspoon French vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)
2 1/2 cups butter, softened
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 family 200 degrees F (106 degrees C.) Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt cake pan.
In a large bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks. Stir in milk, sour cream and salt. Fold in lemon-lime soda, French vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Pour into prepared pan. Using an electric mixer, beat eggs 2 minutes at a time, then stir in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir together to form a soft dough, 9x13 inches. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. Before serving, sprinkle with chocolate chips; garnish with white sugar.
