1 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup uncooked white rice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/8 teaspoon dried ginger root
1/8 teaspoon brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
In a medium saucepan, bring soy sauce, cornstarch and oil to a boil over medium heat. Stir in the salt, garlic, ginger, sugar, salt, water and rice. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in vegetable oil, rice, ginger, brown sugar, basil, cinnamon, nutmeg and soy sauce mixture. Stir thoroughly. Serve at room temperature.
