1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup whole black walnuts
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar for dusting
In a large bowl, combine sugar, boiling water, baking soda and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine eggs, white sugar, dates, walnuts, confectioners' sugar, and egg. Mix well and spread mixture into the loaf.
