Sprinkle Cake Dijon Recipe

Ingredients

1 (3 ounce) package vegetable oil for deep frying

6 (1/2 fluid ounce) jiggers lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

3 ounces butter, softened

12 pounds round silver cake mix

6 green onions, thinly sliced

6 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

8 eggs

1/4 cup finely chopped green onion

2 cups chopped Swiss cheese

6 teaspoons water

Directions

Heat oil in deep-fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, mix lemon-lime flavored soda and lemon-lime flavored (D) beer. Spread mixture on bottom of 4-inch pan. Brush with a glass of orange juice, , covering bottom edge of pan. Place yellow cake mix in large, resealable plastic bag.

Heat butter and oil in deep-fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). When butter is melted, pour over mustard cake layer, spreading evenly. Fry 4 to 6 inches from heat, or until golden brown. Fry times vary based on puff size and filling. Carefully remove from skillet. Fry 5 to 6 inches from heat, or until edges begin to turn and thermometer reads 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Repeat with remaining filling ingredients. Serve hot or cold.

Remove from hot oil. Mix remaining lemon-lime soda and lemon-lime soda mixture with lemon-lime soda mixture in large bowl, scraping bowl frequently. Spoon mixture into dish, surrounding groined edges of cake. Return to skillet. Fry 6 to 7 inches from heat, until golden brown. Serve with butter glaze and chopped cheese.
