3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup butter, melted
Preheat the broiler.
In a medium saucepan, mix together the butter, honey, lemon zest, lemon extract, flour, eggs, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Stirring constantly, bring the flour mixture to a slow rolling boil.
Remove from heat and stir margarine into the remaining ingredients. Gradually pour butter mixture into a large bowl. Fold in the sugar and almonds. Spoon over the crust and serve hot.
