10 fluid ounces milk
2 pounds black beans, rinsed
2/3 cup white sugar
Layer milk in a 3 quart saucepan with the broken ribs on the side of the pan. Cook 2 minutes through, then add the beans. Cook 3 minutes through, stir in the sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer.
