Ice Cream Cake Recipe

Ingredients

2 3/4 cups shortening

2 tablespoons orange extract

2 cups white sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

3 cups milk

1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 8 inch round pans.

In a large bowl, cream together shortening and orange extract. Beat in sugar and baking soda. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in sugar salt. Combine whites and brown sugar, then beat in with shortening mixture, mixing just until moistened. Stir together the lemon juice and salt. Combine the milk and pecans, beat into the batter mixture. Spread into prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
