2 cups active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1ΒΌ cup butter, melted
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a small bowl. In a large bowl, stir together the yeast and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, 1 1 cup of sugar, milk, beaten eggs, and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Combine the four remaining flavors and the vanilla extract and mix well. Cover the dough by lightly oiling the bowl briefly with cooking oil.
Punch dough up, using a rolling pin, and turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Kne carefully into 12 inch pie pan. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Coat a shallow deep baking sheet with vegetable oil, reseal pastry, and cut out 12 oblong loaves using a hole punch or sharp knife. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, until golden. Sprinkle sauce over loaves. Let cool in oven.
