2 cups water
1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
In a saucepan, combine water, butter, brown sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, oil, corn syrup, and vanilla. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes. Chill and strain liquid.
In a blender or food processor, puree 1 cup mixture of the 3 cups water, butter mixture, lemon juice, and vegetable oil mixture. Mix well. Transfer to a serving dish. Spread mixture over cream cheese frosting, frosting mixture, and sprinkle with salt. Chill until serving time.
