1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 1/2 cups water
1 pound Swiss cheese
1 cup shredded escarole
1 cup chopped fresh parsley
In a medium skillet, brown the ground beef with garlic powder, oregano, basil, marjoram, vinegar and water. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
Season beef with garlic powder, oregano and basil. Stir in the vinegar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 2 to 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low and simmer 1 to 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Slice beef into bite size pieces. Pour beef mixture over beef and top with cheese. Sprinkle escarole over beef and top with parsley. Serve warm.
